1.
Determine that the tank should be superodorized due to:
· a new tank being put into service
· a used tank which has been open to air being put into service
· a complaint of insufficient odor from the LP-Gas in the
tank
· new downstream lines being placed in service
· other reasons determined by customer
Note: AdSpec
recommends that any superodorizing be done before LP-Gas vapor piping
system is purged and leak checked.
2. Select an
appropriate sized Supercap™ for the LP-Gas tank:
· 500 through 1000 gallons water capacity
· 250 through 380 gallons water capacity
· 120 through 180 gallons water capacity

and cylinders not in the above size ranges, please call AdSpec technical
support at 800-494-7732.
3. If the tank
being put into service contains air, purge or vacuum per usual practice.
4. Remove the
brass plugs from the Supercap™. Save the plugs and Supercap™
shipping box.
Notes: Store
Supercap™ units in a cool, well-ventilated area.
Do not remove plugs until immediately before use.
Do not use a vise or wrench on the tube section.
5. Insert into
each end of the Supercap™ an Acme fitting with ¾"Male
NPT by (appropriate to LP-Gas tank and delivery hose fittings).
6. Connect either
end of the Supercap™ to the LP-Gas delivery hose.
7. Connect the
other end of the Supercap™ to the liquid fill port of the LP-Gas
tank.
8. Fill the
LP-Gas tank per usual practice. The filling process will automatically
burst the containment disks at approximately 70 psi and push extra
PercapTM 355 ethyl mercaptan into the tank.
Note: the maximum allowable working pressure of a Supercap™
unit is 250 PSI.
9. After filling
is complete, disconnect the fill hose and Supercap™, remove
acme fittings from the Supercap™ and replace brass plugs. Also
replace any cap on the LP-Gas tank fill port.
10. Remove the
"superodorized" sticker from the Supercap™, place
it on the LP-Gas tank near to the fill port, and enter date and
initials.
11. Put the
empty Supercap™ back into the shipping package.
12. When all
Supercaps™ in a shipping box are empty, re-close the package,
call the number for pickup on the return shipping label, and send
to AdSpec for recycling.
